I finally got the time and money to build a new machine! And what a machine it is! This one is dubbed FrostByte and she has all the qualifications to hold the name. More than enough power and a water cooling kit that keeps her nice and frosty. This, ladies and gents, is my build. . .
The Pile of Tech!So much beautifull (and expensive) technology! This is what I have been saving up for and it is now going to morphy from a pile of of parts into a functioning next-level beast of a machine!
The ShellCoolerMaster Storm Scout White EditionSide window and 2 fan vents, 1 rear fan, 2 top, 2 vents on the bottom and 2 front. Front fans with white illumination. Special fans and a built in switch on the top to turn off the LED and not the fans. hidden front top panel includes 2 usb 2.0 and 2 usb 3.0 with HD audio headers. Light weight and comfort rubberized handle for carrying.
The Inside ScoopAll tool-less install. 2 trays for SSD Harddrives plus six 3.5 bays for Sata drives. 3 bays for optical media drives. Rubber gromits plus LOADS of space behind the mobo rack for all your wiring needs. The fan vents on the bottom are also equipped with dust filters.
Shines Like a DiamondAs I mentioned there is a specialized switch to turn off the front fan LED's and keep the fans running but who would douse such a brilliant flame.
The Master SystemAsus SaberTooth 990FX r2.0 Ceramic Military MotherboardSo much Extra tech you will have to look it up yourself. . .or follow

This beast is set up to handle the latest AM3+ chips with AMD's latest 990 chipset. 4, yes 4 PCIE 16x slots. This thing can handle up to 4 Crossfire/SLI GPU's baby! A plethora of USB2.0 and 3.0 ports and 8 Sata 6Gb/s slots. Shazaam! Made with military grade components and Ceramic coated heatsinks, this board can handle any explosion of power you can throw at it!
The Brains AMD 8350FX Vishera 4Ghz (4.2Ghz unlocked)I don't have a picture because, well, it's a CPU. Beyond that, its a beast. Unlocked to 4.2 right outta the box! With the water cooling block I am using she clocks 4.3 with no extra overclocking!! That's right this chip is smart enought to adapt and push itself to limits. Just short of quantum, this thing ;p
Cooler Than YouCorsair h80i Water Cooling KitBrilliantly self-contained. All you have is a radiator and the CPU block. LED's on the block can be set to any color for any purpose, cycle or even change by temperature. Two fans included for a push-pull config mean the whole set stays chilly. More inpressive is a USB connector that goes straight into the mobo's usb header so you get a link into the hardware for diagnostics and control. So far, I haven't been able to push this thing any hotter than 31 Celsius (about 88 Fahrenheit). Mmmmm frosty ;p
RAM It!gSkill TridentX Gaming 16Gb x2Not only is it sexy, it's quick! CAS Latency of 8! 1866 (2000 oc) keeps my machine thinking so quick. . .it might be psychic!
Show OffXFX Radeon 7870 256bit 2Gig Hyper-Clock x2Holy crap these things are mind blowing!! It takes 2 Crossfire Power connectors PER CARD! They are hungry! But they do pay back that power in kind, with 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 2 EyeFinity ports per card, I can have my way with enough monitors to build a video harem! A zippy core clock of 1050Mhz and rediculous Memory clock of 1250Mhz keeps the 1280 Stream Processors flowing at a blistering pace! 4k and 3D HD ready, there is nothing these cards can't hanle.
RecollectionVelociRaptor Enterprise OEM 500GigNo pics, hard drives are boring ;p Even though it looks like a plan ol' HDD, this one has some cool tricks. How about a micro-platter form factor for 10,000 rpm's! How about a whopping 64Mb cache! Yeah! quick little bastard for being a 'old fashioned spinner' ;p
Spin itAsus OEM Bulk BluRay/Multi-WriterIf there is anything more boring than a HDD, its a small box with a pop-out cupholder. That said, there isn't much this cup holder can't do. CD's, DVD's, BluRay, and even 3D BluRay ready. I can burn them to if need be. Easily the cheapest peice and yet, still vital.
Feed the BeastCorsair M2 SilentPro Series 720W PSUA powerful creature has a powerful hunger, feed the need with 720 Watts of modular power! Modular means I only use the cords I need which keeps the case clean and flowing well. Stability and strength are the backbone of this bahemoth build!
The Soul UnitedAll inside, wired, piped, powered, and set! There isn't much room left for any kind of shenanigans in there, good thing the part will all be on screen! This has been one of my finest builds and I had a blast with it!! This case was wonderful to work in, the water cooling kit was actually easy and well built. Those Video cards are something else, no doubt, taking up every inch they possibly can! I am proud of this machine and I hope she will serve me a great 10+ years like CryoTank before her.
