First of all, I enjoy runs with guild mates, usually. However, when I did a run today it was abysmal. I'm not going to "name and shame" but I -am- going to give a list of issues I saw.



So, I tell the group before queue pops that I have a 5th, and ask for lead, at which point someone told me to invite them but I didn't have lead, so we ended up with a random who ran through everything to the first boss and is taking out the boss while we're taking out the trash. After first boss was downed, we kicked the random and wait for a new person.

It doesn't take long before we get another and as we hit the second campfire, I go ahead and tell the cleric in the party that they should use Astral Shield in divine mode, mentioning, of course, that I main a cleric. First of all, no offense to anyone in here who does play a cleric, but YELLOW ASTRAL SHIELD DOES NOT HEAL. You get the SAME protection from yellow shield PLUS HEALS if you CAST WITH YOUR TAB ON. I shouldn't have to repeat myself, but seriously, guys, if you play a cleric and I'm in your party, I'm going to whisper you and tell you if I see you're doing something wrong. I have played my DC since beta, I know how to play the class, I'm not saying you don't, but please, for the love of the party, listen when someone's trying to HELP you and give you CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.

Second boss fight goes down well with me on my CW as the only CW in the party casting away and trying to keep the mobs together for the two HRs and get massive DPS from both them and myself by having the mobs together. After that, we head to the next campfire afterwards. I alt-tab for a moment to go check on something, and come back, noticing the party ahead of me. ok, they're clearing trash...

No. THEY ARE SPEED RUNNING TO THE NEXT CAMPFIRE AGGROING EVERYTHING BUT NOT FIGHTING. Why is this bad? WE ARE A LEGIT GUILD! WE DO NOT SPEED RUN TO CAMPFIRES! If you can find a way around the mobs without aggroing or using crazy terrain tricks, fine. There's plenty of perfectly LEGIT ways to avoid the mobs, but when you SPEED RUN to the next campfire? That's NOT LEGIT. Seriously, it doesn't take too long to clear trash like everyone thinks. Having been in a variety of parties, clearing the trash isn't so bad.

Am I in the wrong though? Is my anger towards my guild mates unjustified? I know that "time is of the essence" but would that be considered a tactic or a messed up thing? Everyone knows I love dungeon runs, but not when they're an uncoordinated mess like today...

At the very least, seeing my face at the top of Paingiver was unexpected, given that I'd died a few times... still...

I didn't think it needed to be said since we are a legit Guild but I guess I will have to add it into the rules =_= Sad that that needs to happen. Speed runs are on the same level as cheesing, which is to say, using terrain in a manner which does not coincide with the design set forth by the developers. You are absolutely correct. Using any means to get past a mob if you wish, thats tactics. DO NOT break the terrain or speed run to a campfire. Speed runs are exploiting a system that was put in place for convenience NOT simply skipping content. If you aren't meant to get past a mob without a fight, then fight, its not like it's difficult.

As far as the team being a mess, well that just kinda happens ;p It will take time for all the crew to get used to everyone else and for everyone to sync up. To all the noobs, and fresh recruits, I ask that you remember what this guild is about. Exploration, fun, and above all, setting an example. We believe in the spirit of the game that the Developers have tried to build and we run by that spirit. If you want a quickie then specify when building your team so that the guys that want to take their time and explore can do so on their own team. A conflict of interest will only rift a party. Be open minded to anyone that has an opinion on a class as well. In Quilyassa's case, she really is one of the best DC's you will ever have the luck of running with. There has never been a catastrophic wipe with this girl on the team and she is flexible. Knowing that, maybe give her opinions a shot next time.

Keep in mind, recruits and vets alike, we DO NOT speed run, cheese, or exploit. Doing so will result in demotion, punishment, and if reported exploiting or scamming, IMMEDIATLY BANNED.

Ladies and Gentleman,

I'm not going to give a huge speech on this subject, however I would like what I say to be very crystal clear. As both Xaber and Quilyassa have pointed out, speedruns are not tolerated. Period. To anyone who is used to doing them, break the habit, quickly.

The FoTP is a LEGIT only guild, and we pride ourselves on having remained Legit even when exploting was not being punished by the Devs of NW. We have been Legit since day one, and we are rather proud of it too.

If you are caught exploiting in ANY FORM, you will be warned 'Once'. IF you are caught again, you will be banned, without warning and without any remorse.

There are quite a few of us who put this guild together, and we are pretty much in every Dungeon Delving party this guild forms, so rest assured, we WILL see it, and you WILL be banned.
